I have never gone from strangers to old friends in as fast a time as I did this week. Sunday in church we had 7 new visitors. One was Joel from Vietnam. He wanted to visit our church and got to spend the day with me. The other 6 visitors were from the LCC seminary in Edmonton Canada. 5 Seminarians (Darren Dressler, Mike Montague, Steve Bartlette, James Prophet and Tim Schneider and their professor Dr. Kettner.) They are in Thailand and Cambodia for the next few weeks to train local leaders as part of a class they are taking.
Well, at church, the guys got to talking with Joel and everyone decided to go to the Chatuchak weekend market. Dr. Harms was going too, and so I got to go along and help be tour guide with Dr. Harms. That afternoon and evening pretty much set the trend for the next several days. When the classes in the afternoon were over, I got to take the guys exploring. 
We did a surprising amount of shopping, including a camera for James. Here I am, the tour guide! 
One day we ended up in China town where we met Sarah and ate noodles at a little street vendor stand. Really yummy. We then walked to the State tower, passing by shark fin restaurants, roti stands and a Chinese temple. The tower was farther than the few blocks it looked like on the map, and in the end we couldn't go to the restaurant on the top because we weren't dressed according to the dress code. Instead we went to Molly Malone's which we frequented again the next night after we made it up to the State tower. Other adventures included Siam Paragon, and MBK as well as Stories and the Green Terrace. Regardless where we went, we still had a great time, and it was wonderful having such great guests! After this week in Thailand, they are off to Cambodia for another week of teaching.
